Ministry Teams

The session at Grace Presbyterian Church consists of Elders who oversee the spiritual life of the church as well as participate in the administration of church affairs. Elders and Deacons are elected by the congregationand and serve for three years.

Building and Grounds: Dedicated volunteers meet every Wednesday to work on maintaining the church and grounds.

Budget and Finance: This team prepares an annual budget and oversees the finances of the church.

Evangelism Team: The Evangelism committee is committed to helping people begin a life of relationship with God through fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. They have started a weekly prayer time called Prayerful Beginnings. These prayer sessions are at 9:15 am on Mondays. Be sure to check the church calendar for a number of summer activities, especially the Friends Sunday and Music in the Park.

Stewardship: The task of the Stewardship committee is to challenge members to faithful stewardship and plan for our annual commitment Sunday. All of our gifts of gratitude, time, talent and treasure, are paramount in our daily commitment to the Lord.

Music and Worship: In conjunction with our pastor this team implements our protocol for worship services as well as communion each month.

Christian Education: This team oversees many areas, including children’s church, the Sunday School program, and Vacation Bible school. Our children’s church curriculum, Young Children & Worship, is a program to teach children How to Worship God. Ideally, there are 3 age groups – Nursery, Kindergarten through 2nd grade, and 3rd grade through 6th grade.

Personnel Team: This team assists the pastor with conducting annual performance reviews, and other administrative duties related to hired staff.

Missions: This team works in conjunction with the Evangelism Team in order to carry out our work locally, nationally, and internationally. Our church has been a loving and generous congregation in our mission endeavors. Check out our Mission Programs under About Use.

Gifts, Endowments, Memorials: A team of elected members ensure that all donations are acknowledged and that the funds are correctly disbursed according to the wishes of the families.

Presbyterian Men: They meet on the third Saturday each month at 8 AM for a hot breakfast and a brief program. They sponsor two annual community social programs, Breakfast With Santa and Breakfast With the Easter Bunny, please check the church calendar for date and time. This free event includes breakfast, photo, and crafts for families.

Compassion Ministry: The Compassion Ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church is organized through our Board of Deacons. They provide outreach to those with a variety of needs. Examples of support may include:

  • Caring for members by running errands and performing light chores
  • Arranging transportation for those who may need a ride to the doctor
  • Reaching out to members who are ill, or in nursing homes, through regular visitations
  • Encouraging and supporting each other as we face life’s challenges
  • Provides communion to shut-ins and nursing home residents

Presbyterian Women: This group is very active in the life of our church. All women of the church are encouraged to join this very active group. Each of our four circles meet once a month for Bible Study. Projects organized by the PW include:

  • Provide refreshments for Fellowship Hour after regular Sunday church service.
  • Fall Apple Butter Festival: Held on the first Saturday in October, the slow-cooked apple butter always brings a crowd. Besides our apple butter, we also offer quilts, craft items, and a variety of baked goods as well as a delicious lunch. Proceeds from the Festival are used to benefit not only church projects but also local community missions. Check out our Mission Programs
